The water temps are warming up, but so is the fishing.  Numerous reports of decent striped bass fishing around the island.  Water is in the low to mid 70's, which is not typically the temps you want for good striped bass fishing, but they're here.  Successfull outings are, of course, at night with slow moving plugs and eels.

Wind has still been an issue, but the great thing about the Vineyard is you can usually find a spot out of the wind and get some good casting distance and clean water.

Wind, wind go away come again another . . . well you get the picture.

Surf fishing has been extremely challenging to say the least.  Some of the boat anglers have managed to still catch some stripers.  A 44 pound bass was weighed in a Dick's Bait and Tackle just 3 days ago.  This wind has blown hard since the hurricane and has really churned up the shoreline.  Some anglers have managed to pull in some schoolie sized bass with the occassional keeper being caught here and there.

This wind is suppose to die down as the week progresses and hopefully we'll have a much more optimistic report for all you shore anglers out there.

Happy 4th of July!!
(Except you Hurricane Arthur)

So the weather is not the greatest right now . . . but a few days leading up to today has been great! Some really good fishing has been happening and surfcasters are catching respectable stripers at night.   We unsure what this storm will do to the fishing, but the hope is that it will turn some fish on and we'll have great fishing once the storm leaves.

Now that school is out for the summer fishing can take more of a priority and I can't wait to spend long hours on the water!  Call or email now to book a trip.  We have tons of options to make your time on Martha's Vineyard a memorable one.  If you are a hard core surfcaster I have tons of spots to show you that can produce huge fish; or if you want to spend some time on the beach with friends or the family then book a beach excursion where you can relax with a BBQ grill, beach chairs and of course fishing gear!

The weather has been spectacular and the conditions perfect.  So, where's the fish?  Not the kind of question you want to here from a guide, but I am a member of the MV Surfcasters Association and we hosted the Nantucket Anglers Club this past weekend.  They were a great group and we had 2 dozen anglers covering the entire coastline of Martha's Vineyard - with one keeper bass tallied for the weekend excursion.  Many theories being thrown around, but one thing I know is just like the tide - an ebb and flood, so does the fishing.  We have optimistic reports of good fishing off NY, CT, and RI and my hope is those fish are still migrating north.

Hopefully I will have a better report for all of you in the coming days.  For now, keep fishing and enjoy the outdoors.  Remember, a bad day on the water is better than a good day at work!

Blues, blues, blues.  Yup, the bluefishing is epic right now.  Tons of bait and bluefish around the island.  We had a great Memorial Day Weekend and the fishing is still continuing to be good throughout the week.  Striped bass fishing has been a bit slow for larger sized fish, but plenty of schoolies and small keepers to go around.

Livinit Fishing Guide Service is taking reservations now so don't hesitate to call or email me at This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. or call 508-274-0320.  We have a couple new trips added to our already fun and exciting guided trips.
